Senior Quantity Surveyor – Engineering Contractor (Cork)

We are working with a well-established engineering contractor to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a permanent role based in Cork. The Role:
You will take the lead on the commercial management of multiple high-value projects, working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and senior management to ensure profitability, contractual compliance, and cost control from pre-construction through final account.
Responsibilities:
Full commercial management of assigned projects
Prepare cost plans, valuations, variations, and final accounts
Subcontractor procurement and contract administration
Monitor and report on project costs, margins, and cash flow
Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams
Contribute to risk analysis and value engineering
Ensure adherence to contract terms and company procedures
Mentor junior QS staff (as applicable)
Requirements:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
Minimum 7 years’ experience in a contracting environment (engineering, civil, or M&E preferred)
Excellent knowledge of Irish forms of contract (e.g. PWC, FIDIC, NEC)
Strong commercial awareness and cost control skills
Confident in client-facing roles and negotiating with subcontractors
Proficient in reporting, cash flow forecasting, and project finance
Full driving licence
