Construction Director | House Builder | Wicklow | €160k–€180k + Package / Vehicle + Profit Share
We are working with a residential developer seeking a Construction Director to take overall responsibility for a 100+ unit housing development in Wicklow, while playing a key role in the wider growth of the business.
This is a substantial leadership position within a medium sized Developer, and they are looking for somebody who wants to be genuinely involved in the operation - not a Construction Director managing everything remotely from head office.
A visible, hands-on leadership role
The successful person will be expected to be on site approximately four days per week, providing leadership and setting the standard for the company's own staff, subcontractors and wider project team.
The client feels strongly about having their Construction Director embedded within the project and will build and fully fit out a dedicated office on site for the successful person - with the new Director having input into how their own office is designed and specified.
There is flexibility to work from home one day per week, but ultimately they want a senior figure who is present, approachable and knows exactly what is happening across the development.
The Role
You'll have overall responsibility extending considerably beyond day-to-day construction delivery, including:
Leadership of the 100+ unit residential development
Management and oversight of internal teams and subcontractors
Coordination with architects, consultants and the wider design team
Involvement with planning applications and the development process
Understanding and reviewing technical drawings
Financial and commercial oversight
Liaising on legal and contractual matters
Driving programme, quality and project performance
Working directly with the business owners on future developments
Longer-Term Opportunity
This isn't simply about delivering one housing scheme.
The developer has a significant pipeline of land and future sites across Dublin and the east coast, representing approximately 500 additional residential units and providing a strong pipeline over the coming years.
They want somebody capable of becoming a major part of the business as that pipeline develops.
Who We're Looking For
Your current title isn't particularly important.
You could currently be operating as a Construction Director, Project Director or Contracts Manager.
What matters is that you've come through construction/site delivery, progressed to a senior level and can demonstrate strong residential construction knowledge alongside the commercial, technical and leadership ability required to take ownership of a development.
Experience dealing with planning, technical drawings, architects and consultants would be particularly valuable.
The client is also looking for career stability, ideally no more than two positions within the last five years.
Package
€160,000–€180,000 + Package
Including a substantial company vehicle / vehicle allowance, with the potential for profit-share and performance-related incentives.
This is an opportunity for somebody who still enjoys being close to construction but wants the authority, package and longer-term opportunity of a genuine senior leadership position.
